Achieving big goals or long term goals takes time, Some goals are long term; 5 years, 10 years ahead. But there are short term goals. The ones you could achieve in weeks, a month, one or two years. However, the short term goals actually precede the long term ones. This is means that the short term goals are the means to achieve the long term goals so you work towards achieving them while being conscious of the fact that these short term goals are what will help you to achieve the long term ones.
Like I quote “If you are in control of your daily activities then any other goal is halfway achieved” Reaching long term goals is determined by how you manage your daily activities. I created the Goals Card alongside Goals Guide 2020 intentionally for this purpose, if you have yours already. Good enough, you can tell the importance.
However, you have an opportunity in 2020 to make it better. You can achieve your goals this year and this is what you should do.
HEAL FROM THE PAST
The concern that usually keeps us from reaching our goals is the inability to heal from repeated poor results over the years and when the motivation comes to set goals for the new year, anxiety surfaces and we just doubt if such goal could ever be achieved. Often times, this is what prevents us from Setting goals. Several questions will pop up in your mind like; If I couldn’t achieve it last year, what makes me think that I Can? And we magnify the fear rather than shattering it and reaching for hope or maximizing the art of positive thinking.
GET IN TOUCH WITH YOURSELF
Now, what do you want to achieve in 3- 5 o 10 years’ time? Only you know you better. Identify what you want and embrace It. Start visualizing. This helps to build your inner strength and gives you the positive energy to stand up for what you desire to see happen in your life. And standing up means do what you have to do now that could lead you to achieve your long term goals.
Avoid setting goals and in between the time you do nothing. Do not be lost in the space of the time. As the days go by so the year draws closer.
BE CONSCIOUS OF EACH DAY
Wake up every day with the consciousness of your long term goals. The action you take today determines what you will achieve tomorrow. so each second of your life is important and it counts. Check what you do on a daily basis and make sure your effort tally with your goals, otherwise, it is possible to watch the year pass you by without attaining your expectations. In essence what happens, in the end, is just the result of what you do daily.
Each breaking of the day is headed to a long year ahead and what you do now is only what matters. If you use your time wisely or not. Either way, you get an equal result.
